Installation and first run

  1. When downloads open, download BruhBoard-1.0-mac.zip.
  2. Open the zip file.
  3. Move BruhBoard.app to Applications.
  4. Open BruhBoard from Applications.
  5. If macOS asks, confirm that you want to open the notarized app.
  6. Enter your license key in the app.
  7. Use Test Sound to preview the selected sound.
  8. Enable keyboard sounds after Input Monitoring is allowed.

Input Monitoring setup

macOS Input Monitoring permission is required for keyboard-triggered sounds because BruhBoard reacts to key presses outside its own window.

Allow BruhBoard in System Settings, then restart the app if the permission change does not apply immediately.

BruhBoard does not save, log, transmit, or analyze what you type, typed characters, keyCode values, modifier keys, focused app names, or focused window titles.

License activation

Paste your license key into the license field in the app. When activation succeeds, the app should show License Active.

An active license is required before Enable keyboard trigger can be used for key press sounds.

If the app says the license could not be verified, is not for BruhBoard, or has expired, contact support with the error message shown by the app.

Test Sound

Test Sound previews the selected sound and works even when Input Monitoring has not been allowed yet.

If Test Sound works, sound output, volume, and mute settings are probably working.

If Test Sound works but key press sounds do not, check that your license is active, keyboard sounds are enabled, Mute is off, Input Monitoring is allowed, and the app has been restarted after the permission change.

FAQ

I paid but did not receive a license key

Checkout is not open yet. After purchase is available, license delivery will be manual in V1. Contact support with your payment date and transaction reference if available.

The app says my license is not active

Check that the full license key was pasted without missing characters. If it still fails, contact support with the error message shown by the app.

Keyboard sounds do not work

Make sure your license is active, sounds are enabled, Mute is off, and macOS Input Monitoring permission has been allowed for the app.

Why does the app need Input Monitoring?

macOS requires Input Monitoring for apps that react to keyboard input outside their own window. The app uses it only to detect that a key press event happened so it can play a sound.
